Licence to Take Nests or Eggs of Wild Birds

The Minister is empowered, under Section 22 (9)(d), to give licences to examine, inspect or take the nests or eggs of protected wild birds for such educational, scientific or other purposes as shall be so specified.

These applications are considered on their merits in accordance with the Statutory Obligations of the Minister set out in the Wildlife Act, 1976 (as amended).

Applications for permissions are made on a standard application form available from:
