Licences

In certain circumstances licenses can be issued to allow activities that are otherwise illegal.  In particular licences can be issued for the following purposes:

Hunting

• To Hunt Deer
• To Hunt Fauna in State-Owned Foreshore etc
• To Hunt Pen-Reared Birds
• To Hunt Wild Birds for Training Gun Dogs
• To Hunt - Not Involving Firearms

Import/Export/Trade

• Wildlife Dealer's Licence
• To Import Live Wild Animals or Birds
• To Export Wild Birds / Animals etc 
• Permits / Certificates Under EC Regulations (CITES)

Other Licences

• To Take, Capture or Humanely Kill Protected Wild Animals for Scientific or Educational Purposes
• To Take, Capture or Humanely Kill Protected Wild Birds for Scientific or Educational Purposes
• To Mark or Ring Wild Animals or Birds
• To Take or Interfere With Protected Plant Species
• Disturbance of Bats or Otters or their Breeding or Resting Places 
• Interfere With or Destroy the Breeding Place or Resting Place of any Protected Wild Animal (e.g. Badger Sett)
• To Stop Damage to Flora and Fauna by Wild Animals (Section 42)  
• To Possess Birds of Prey
• To Take Nests or Eggs of Wild Birds
• To Keep an Injured or Disabled Wild Bird
• To Keep an Injured or Disabled Protected Wild Animal
• To Photograph or Film a Protected Wild Animal
• To Photograph or Film a Protected Wild Bird
• Miscellaneous Licences
